No Security Clearance Required about security clearance definitions Position Description Summary: The User Experience Specialist is a member of the e-Business group in the Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) Information Services organization. The e-Business group is responsible for envisioning, designing and delivering capabilities and experiences across the MyBoeingFleet web portal and other digital channels and touchpoints in support of the CAS organization. MyBoeingFleet provides Boeing customers, maintenance service providers, regulatory agencies, and internal support teams access to technical and non-technical information through research, collaboration, and procurement tools essential to operating and maintaining Boeing aircraft. The User Experience Specialist partners with project teams to create effective, usable and satisfying user experiences with information technology. Performs user-centered design activities that actively involve users throughout all phases of a project to ensure product usability. Conducts user research through interviews, field studies and surveys. Defines user requirements and usability goals. Creates user interaction design alternatives. Conveys designs by building prototypes. Conducts usability tests, heuristic evaluations or other reviews to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the designs. Diagnoses usability issues and refines designs or recommends changes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Analyzes requirements by performing task analysis to identify task sequences and designs future task execution. Creates use cases or user scenarios that capture and communicate the frequent and/or critical tasks. + Translates requirements into a user interaction design by applying usability, human factors and user interface design principles to create a user interaction design prototype that efficiently and effectively supports the business need and user work. + Evaluates and measures the usability of products by performing activities such as informal and formal usability testing and heuristic reviews. Applies human factors, usability and user interface design principles to identify and diagnose usability problems. Validates user requirements have been met and provides recommendations for design improvements. Measures performance against usability goals. + Consults with and coaches others in the user-centered design process and usability engineering methods. Identifies and provides associated training resources. + Defines, develops and deploys infrastructure products and services that support and enable the execution of the user-centered design process and usability engineering methods. Analyzes new methods and proposes changes required to maintain the infrastructure products and services. + Creates internal promotional and marketing materials. Incorporates industry and Boeing data into marketing materials. Promotes and fosters awareness and appreciation of the benefits of usability engineering methods and user-centered design to improve the usability of Boeing software. + Coordinates with the business partner or product manager to define and document business and user requirements by performing usability analysis activities such as field studies, contextual inquiry and interviews to elicit and understand business practices, user groups, work objectives, tasks and improvement opportunities. Creates personas, user profiles and usability goals to guide product design and establish usability metrics.
