To be a Teacher in Early Childhood Education in the state of California, you must meet the following minimum state requirements:
- Have completed 12 Semester Course Units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Have at least six (6) months of work experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Have completed three (3) Semester Course Units in Infant/Toddler Development
- Preferred qualifications include coursework in Administration
