An Early Childhood Teacher with a passion for their chosen profession is required for a new centre due to open in January 2012 on the Northern Beaches. The successful candidates will be able to choose their age group preference and are encouraged to apply for either part-time or full-time hours.
My clients are very flexible and are happy to consider allocating set shifts to those teachers who need to work certain hours to fit in with other committments. Also welcome to apply are those applicants who are currently studying towards an Early Childhood degree. Most importantly, applicants must be willing to commit to a long-term role, have a fantastic attitude and love what they do!
My ideal candidate will have:
- Currently studying or completed Bachelor of Teaching/Education (Early Childhood) degree (DoCS approved)
- Proven experience in managing staff and leadership
- Professional conduct at all times
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A solid understanding of NSW Children's Services Regulation 2004 and QIAS principles
- Confidence to implement the NSW Framework Curriculum into the room
- Ability to develop warm and respectful relationships with families and children
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Permanent working rights in Australia
Key responsibilities include yet are not limited to:
- Develop and implement creative and new ideas working in lines with the centres philosophies
- Prepare and facilitate group sessions
- Document and interpret children's behaviour, educational development and social skills
- Develop and maintain individual portfolios
- Communicate effectively with parents, co workers and children
- Support, guide and coach less experienced staff as required
- Supervise children ensuring they are in a safe environment
- Lead the staff, assisting with programming, training and overall mentoring plus running the centre in owner's absence
