East Coast Sales Manager- Solar Job in San Diego 92101, California US
As one of the first solar cell manufacturers in China, my client was created in 2004 and were publicly listed shortly thereafter. Known for their leading-edge technology in the photo-voltaic (PV) industry, my client has grown rapidly in the past few years. My client's marketing and service network has covered Europe, America, Australia and Asia and the products have been extensively applied in the communication and urban construction fields all over the world.
We are currently seeking for two qualified and energetic Regional Solar Sales Managers to join our team on the East and West Coasts.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience presenting and selling to C-Suite level and solar module distributors and installers.
- Experience successfully working in a decentralized, start-up environment is preferred, but not necessary.
- Ability to build business plans and prioritize sales efforts effectively to achieve business objectives. Specific preference for candidates that can demonstrate prior experience building a business plan with marketing that has been executed to grow sales in a region, new market, or with a new product launch.
- Ability to penetrate into new distributors and installers and deliver sales results.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with a tolerance for ambiguity.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with prospective customers.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 75% of time for customer visits and marketing events.
- Ability to deliver outstanding presentations to customers via phone, in person, and in both formal and informal settings using technology as needed. Competency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Power Point and Excel.
- Team player, detail oriented, flexible, problem solver, highly organized.
- Knowledge of industry, local utility obstacles and prices, local competition, and products/services.
- Track record of sales excellence and success in Solar PV Industry
- Track record of successfully achieving sales quotas in growth organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of solar project design, quotation, installation, financing and related incentive programs is preferred.
- Management potential and ability to grow with the expansion of the division/company
- Ability to coach sales account managers and close large deals is required, as demonstrated by prior verifiable examples with multi-channel sales (commercial, distributor, integrator, end-customer).
- Must have prior performance management responsibilities for sales personnel; including sales plan design and execution.
- Preference for an experienced manager; able to motivate and retain a skilled and diverse workforce.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, 5 + years experience in sales, preferably within the PV Solar industry, renewable energy industry, technology industry or other related industry experience, MBA degree plus.
- Working knowledge of sales and prospecting methodologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required including demonstrated presentation skills at all levels within the organization.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to obtain a valid passport.
