Overview:
The Ecommerce Developer, Production Support acts as primary application support point person for the development team to track, manage, trouble-shoot and fix production related issues.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, network teams alike to trouble-shoot ecommerce issues to success.
- Review and analyze production requests from business teams on a daily basis - track, analyze and manage them to closure.
- Help define processes to improve website availability, support and maintenance.
- Use enterprise database skills to verify check system reliability.
- Implement data related fixes for day-to-day incidents occurring in production.
- Manage the development tasks related to a release- set up the integration environment with test data; configure the systems to ensure availability for integration and testing to assist developers.
- Help to fix production bugs that may be production or enhancement related working together with development teams.
- Partner with operations and other infrastructure (level 1 and 2) teams to manage the tickets and streamline the processes to engage the right development member for a production crisis.
- Provide maintenance and production support, trouble-shooting production issues.
- Attend to day to day production problems related to data, DB, configuration, batch processes etc - additionally, identify the critical problems that occur on a regular basis to identify long term solution.
- Be the representative on production calls for the development team - understand the infrastructure and production environment, assist with a site availability issue participating on calls and engage the developers as needed to resolve the problem both short term and long term.
Skills Summary:
- BA/BS Computer Science Degree or equivalent.
- At least 2-4 years professional work experience.
- Experience/familiarity with any J2EE Application server (WebSphere, WebLogic, ATG Dynamo, etc).
- Experience in troubleshooting production problems to help with ecommerce site availability.
- Familiarity with Java based web applications, IBM WebSphere experience preferred 6.0 higher.
- Familiarity of deployment topology in enterprise ecommerce environment highly desired.
- Understanding of enterprise database like IBM DB/2 or any other enterprise database like Sybase or Oracle needed.
- Some understanding of Java/J2EE development skills essential. Good knowledge of SQL preferred.
- Good understanding of full life cycle development and strong analytical and problem solving skills a must.
- Ability to effectively learn and use new programming concepts, tools and methodology to support the needs of the business.
- Ability to effectively share technical information, train and mentor less experienced or knowledgeable team members.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business.
