eCommerce Merchandizer / Product Search Optimization

Searchandiser - Prioritizing, developing and managing the customers' experience on search result pages to increase conversions. Working to drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities, identify co-op opportunities and complement SEO/SEM efforts.

Coordinate product placement with Marketing and the core Brand/Product personnel while ensuring appropriate and accurate representation of the products to drive sales. Partner with the Marketing team to get a full understanding of the season’s promotion strategy and initiatives and creates seasonal flow plans to keep search results fresh at all times. Sets up daily and weekly site promotions. Reviews site preview site and pushes merchandised products on the site. Partner with the buying team to ensure all products are placed and have the best selling opportunity. Communicates weekly merchandising updates to eCommerce, product and buying team. Merchandise search results pages. Work closely with data analyst to prioritize search results page build-out. Design Templates and navigation paths in search tool (Endeca). Works with Data Analyst to determine sell with opportunities to optimize site average order-value. Developing linking strategy and links to cross-sell opportunities. Measure landing page performance and make necessary adjustments. Shops the competition on line for product pricing, set up, and promotional offers. Work with Co-Op to develop, manage supplier sponsorship opportunities. Fosters the company Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of company mission. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or the equivalent is required. Minimum of 2-5 years eCommerce experience is required. Minimum of 3-5 years merchandising experience is required. HTML experience is preferred.

SKILLS:

Ability to work in a fast paced environment building landing pages for search results on company website(s). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail ensuring web pages represent the company brand with the highest possible standards. Web analytics ability and use of web technology platforms a plus not a requirement. (i.e. CoreMetrics, Google Analytics and Endeca). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Problem solving and creativity in merchandising. Experienced in HTML, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent time management and organizational skills are required. Knowledge of industrial distribution preferred. Experience working w/ graphic production is preferred.
