Economic Risk Capital Market Risk Analyst recruitment


A leading investment bank has a new exciting opening as an Economic Risk Capital Market Risk Analyst to undertake a contract role focusing across asset classes. You will calculate and report of monthly Economic Risk Capital and solvency measure. You will need strong analytical skills, a strong understanding of market risk, and possess solid communication skills, good interpersonal skills and be an exceptional team player.

Role/Responsibilities

- Calculation and Reporting of monthly Economic Risk Capital (ERC), Available Economic Capital (AEC) and solvency measure.

- Understanding the methodologies applied and explaining monthly/quarterly changes in risk calculations.

- Monthly and quarterly comparison and analysis disclosed internally and externally.

- Implementation of new ERC methodologies and calculations.

- Testing the ERC models prior to implementation and resolving issues.

- Developing new/additional reporting tools and models.

- Improving existing spreadsheet calculations.

Skills

- Numerate undergraduate degree in Maths / Economics / Physics or related subject

- Good quantitative background with

- Good general financial experience - ACA, CFA or equivalent qualification

- Experience in an investment bank ideally giving some exposure to risk and markets

- Prior VAR/Economic Capital experience would be a plus

- Experience in a market risk environment and/or experience in a Risk Control function

- Must have strong product knowledge and understanding of risk fundamentals i.e VaR/sensitivities/stress testing etc

- Strong excel, VBA skills is desirable but not essential

- Develop strong risk analytics and understanding across wide range of products traded by the bank.
