Economist – Macro Analyst – Asset Management recruitment
They have a diversified, balanced, and growing business with clients based in over 40 countries - with a rapidly growing base in Asia. Their elite team of Investment Managers manage portfolios focusing on equity, fixed income, currencies, commodities, real assets, and active asset allocation, including hedge fund portfolios.
As part of the continued expansion of the Asia group investment capabilities globally, they are currently seeking to recruit a Global Macro Strategist to focus on China and Asia. This Senior Economist will be a member of the Global Strategy Team and will play a lead part in Asia. The role is important in developing the global team's macroeconomic strategy in China and Asia. He/she will contribute to the management of a range of strategic investments and for communicating the trends and investment ideas with firm's clients around the world. This will involve working closely with portfolio managers and analysts to assess investment trends and to help generate investment ideas that can be incorporated into portfolios.
The successful candidate is likely to be a trained Economist with 5+ years of relevant work experience. He/she will have demonstrable experience developing and communicating value-added macro strategies, either as part of an investment team, or as a macro analyst at a central bank. Experience covering international markets, in particular China and/or Asia, is essential.
A strong academic background, including an undergraduate degree in Economics, is required. A reputable post-graduate qualification and fluency in mandarin also essential.
The position will be based in Hong Kong.
