Located in the Brisbane CBD we are seeking an Economist and Senior Economist to join our business.

The Economist will assist in the analysis and forecasting of the global economy and contribute to written reports and presentations on economic forecasts and developments of QIC’s economic modelling infrastructure to a publishable standard. The Economist will work closely with senior members of the team to maximise the timeliness and accuracy of the Economics Research (ER) team’s global economic views. Candidates for this role will need to have an honours or a post-graduate degree in economics/econometrics.

The Senior Economist will use our suite of proprietary economic models to generate analysis and forecasts of global, Australian and state economies and key industries. The Senior Economist will liaise closely with internal stakeholders in order to maximise the value of the ER teams’ output to various investment processes and decision making. Candidates for this role will need to have a number of years experience as a professional economist and a demonstrated ability to use large scale macro econometric models for the purpose of forecasting.
