Economist (VP/SVP) recruitment
This is a very important hire for the bank who are in the process of introducing a new team to its Investment Banking division. A experience Economist is required for this role, someone who has both regional and international experience preferably from a Financial Services background. Key responsibilities include:
- planning, designing and conducting research in the areas of macro and monetary economics, banking, finance, consumer finance, contract theory, industrial organisation, international, or urban economics.
- complete studies of economic and statistical data in the area of specialisation, Banking or Finance sectors.
- Devise methods and procedures for collecting and processing data, utilising knowledge of available sources of data and various econometric and sampling techniques.
- Compile data relating to the selected research areas.
- Review and analyse economic data in order to prepare reports detailing results of investigation and economic changes.
- Formulate recommendations, policies, or plans to aid in market interpretation or solution of economic problems.
Skills / experience required:
- 12-15 years of relevant experience
- Masters or PhD in Economics
- At least 5-8 years international banking experience, plus 3-5 years regional experience
- It is highly advantageous for the applicants to be bilingual, Arabic and English
- Experience from mature markets is highly advantageous ie London / Singapore, this must be coupled with GCC experience.
