Economist/Strategist – Sell Side recruitment
Responsibilities
• Build macroeconomic scenario for the Greater China and Asian countries.
• Develop econometric tools for forecasting.
• Present global and regional scenario of the Research Department to clients in Asia.
• Develop a wide variety of quantitative strategies for Asian equities, and advise clients on these strategies from both fundamental and quantitative perspectives.
• Develop selection strategies, based on styles events, technical models etc.
• Portfolio construction, implementation and risk modeling.
• Develop strategies and conduct back testing.
• Highlight themes that are driving markets.
• Macro / country allocation, and how macro events influence stocks.
• Write daily, weekly, monthly notes, and special reports on the covered economies.
• Communicate with external think tanks and academic bodies.
Requirements
• University degree in economic, ideally with post graduate degree.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, gained from the sell side.
• In-depth grasp of the macro environment as well as the localized landscape.
• Ability to present and communicate investment ideas to clients.
• Ability to generate insightful written pieces within hours of events.
• Excellent investment writing skills.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin. Ability to write in Chinese a definite advantage.
