The business and team:
Institutional Banking Markets (IBM) provide institutional clients with solutions across the debt to equity capital spectrum, payment systems, risk management and other banking services. We call this proposition 'Total Capital Solutions'.
Our industry sector alignment, product capability, industry expertise and specialist skills are key points of differentiation to our global industry peers.
Equities Research conducts research on ASX-listed companies, and provides research services to the clients of IBM's Institutional Equities business. These institutional investors include international clients as well as the major domestic clients in the Australian marketplace.
Role Purpose:
Provide editorial control over all Equity Research Products and create and design corporate access materials. Regular daily shift is from 12-8pm. Part time can be facilitated.
KeyAccountabilities:
Editorial
- Regular daily shift is from 12pm to 8pm. Flexibility essential to cover for:
- Peaks in workflow (eg Reporting Season, large or numerous reports)
- Provide editorial control of all Equities Research product
- Ensure the efficient production and distribution of company and industry research products
- Ensure the timely delivery of research product and daily bulletin
- Service and support equities research analysts to ensure:
- soundness of research ideas and their development
- clarity of communication of ideas
- high grammatical standards
- quality assurance
- publication deadlines are met
- all Compliance requirements are met
- production of weekly and ad hoc reports for CommSec retail clients
- Train analysts in the use of research templates, and in Editorial and Style guidelines
- Work closely with other publishing staff to coordinate research resourcing requirements
- Manage the workflow and production of research through the publications process
Desktop Publishing
- Creation of design and corporate access materials
- Formatting of adhoc Word reports to send to external printers
- Creation of Word and Powerpoint templates and any other adhoc graphic materials, including Marketing and Branding materials, adhering to Bank and Equities Research style guidelines
- Produce standalone research reports
- Produce CBA Equities Daily
- Manage workload and workflow of analyst reports
- Organise analysts - in Sydney and Melbourne - to work to production deadlines
- Edit and proof-read analyst research reports to ensure research is in all respects suitable for institutional clients and consistent across all products
- Work closely with institutional sales and retail advisers in undertaking these tasks
- Manage electronic and physical distribution of research reports
- Maintain Editorial and Style guideline manuals
- Produce other ad hoc reports required for Publishing team
- Leave by other publishing staff, including at short notice (eg for illness)
Qualificationsand Experience Required:
Essential
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline
- High level analytical skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience in research in an Equities environment or similar
- Understanding of financial concepts and analyses
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the organisation
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Working knowledge of Adobe CS5 InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat
