Children's Electronics and Multimedia Department of major publishing house has an immediate opening for an editor.

For each book or multimedia project, the editor works as a team member (along with art director, sound designer, acquisitions editor, and for some formats, an animator) to produce content.

You'll write copy for each project and make sure that all the elements of that project---text, art, audio, and animations---are consistent and work together. You'll direct voice recording sessions and work with sound designers to create sound effects and music. In addition, you'll create and maintain the technical documentation for each electronic/multimedia project assigned.

We're looking for a creative, fluent writer and multitasker who can think visually and work in partnership with art directors. Respect for licensed children's characters and a desire to understand them fully is required. Attention to detail is essential. Proficiency in verse writing, knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, and experience with technical writing are desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree, preferably in English, creative writing, journalism, communications, or a related field and relevant experience. Expect to work hard and have fun.
