The Assistant (INTERN) to the Managing Editor, Emissions, provides analytical and reporting support to the work of the Platts European Power Group. The assistant collects and analyzes published data sets and other information from the European natural gas and power markets, providing a support function to the group, which includes more than 15 editors of varying levels of seniority and responsibility. He or she also provides important research for stories that are in production, and helps collate market data on a daily basis
Responsibilities:
- Collect and disseminate web-based data regarding gas and power plant outages
- Write up press releases and provide supporting research for stories
- Provide assistance for editors using internal content management system (PEN), tagging and editing stories
- Collect and input data from the EU emissions market into internal database
Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient mathematics
- Grounding in the fundamentals of research, reporting, and/or economics
- Familiarity with Excel
- Good interpersonal skills
