Our Mission
SCO Family of Services works with New York’s most vulnerable, providing the support and tools needed for a stable, healthy, and successful future.

At the Madonna Heights School, 78 high school and middle school girls attend classes on the Dix Hills Campus, where “learning to lead productive, independent and confident lives,” is a driving force in the curriculum.
Fully accredited by New York State, the school provides all major subjects as well as, home economics and technical studies. Both the Middle and High School classes are designed to help the students build a bridge in their lives that will help them return to their families and to their own school, while learning to lead fulfilling lives.
The students are referred by the Department of Social Services, Family Court, Special Education Committees of local school districts, and the Office of Mental Health. They come to Madonna Heights to learn to cope with issues affecting their lives.

All the teachers at Madonna Heights School are involved in on-going curriculum development that is designed to address the new Regents Standards for Learning. Particular attention is paid to incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and suggestions that can be used in Grades 7 – 12 in order to address the academic, social, physical, and management needs of the students.

Madonna Heights Services in Dix Hills merged with St. Christopher-Ottilie in 1996. Expanding beyond the original mission to provide children with a loving home, SCO FAMILY OF SERVICES (formerly St. Christopher-Ottilie) today has broadened its scope to serve the needs of the entire family through programs such as residential housing, preventive care programs, employment programs and community-based congregate care. Throughout its rich history, the goal of SCO FAMILY OF SERVICES has remained consistent and challenging: to enhance the quality of life for children and adults in need.
