Role Responsibility
A Lead Architect specializing in Integration and Data Architecture is required to work on a B2B integration initiative to underpin a major strategic alliance.
Additional Responsibilities:
Define an end-to-end B2B solution at a non-functional level, covering all IT delivery streams, including internal business applications, data warehousing and B2B data exchange streams.
Liaise with the external/client architecture and technical to agree the standards and architecture of the B2B interface.
Communicate and negotiate the solution, ensure buy-in, and ensure IT delivery is in line with the solution.
Understand the functional requirements at a high-level, and ensure the solution is functionally fit-for-purpose.
Define Data/Integration Architecture best practice for data delivery teams, and architectural principles to govern delivery.
Liaise regularly with multiple IT delivery teams, and drive adherence to best practice, and to the defined solution.
Ensure technical, inter-team design and development processes are aligned to deliver efficiently.
Ensure the solution is scalable, sustainable and re-usable.
Ensure value-for-money from an architecture perspective on IT budget.
Undertake other reasonably related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Experience and Qualification
The candidate should have strong conceptual, best practice and implementation/delivery foundations in the following areas:
Integration Architecture for batch and message based paradigms, specifically in a B2B context
Data Architecture and Standardization
Logical and Physical Data Modelling approaches and tools
XML and XSD Schema design
ETL and Data Warehousing
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
Data Quality and Master Data Management
Integration Transmission Paradigms, Patterns and Protocols
FTP, HTTP Web Services (and secure variants)
General knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
Data integration in the clinical or pharmaceutical research domains
associated Industry Standard models, including CDISC SDTM and BRIDG
Designing solutions to meet associated regulatory compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry
General skills:
Strong leadership skills, and an ability to negotiate and influence.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision with very good organizational skills;
Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical groups.
