Role Summary/Purpose
Essential Responsibilities
*Develop and implement EHS strategy to lead the CEER region to world class EHS performance
*Manage EHS Team based at Converteam Berlin shop
*Create EHS programs, responsive to the external environment; participate in cross-functional business and cultural development;
*Provide leadership, support and technical guidance to the CEER leadership team, to assure programs are developed and effectively implemented providing safe and healthy working environments for employees across the region, and to protect the environment from the adverse effects of environmental contaminates and hazardous wastes;
*Develop, implement, and support Environment, Health Safety (EHS) programs throughout GE Converteam sites;
*Improve existing EHS programs to align with GE programs and initiatives, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations;
*Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast business impacts;
*Actively contribute to the direction and content of GE’s Corporate EHS programs;
*Team with GE-CEP to share Best Practices from GE Corporate and other GE Businesses to improve the EHS performance of the Region;
*Mentor CEER Regional EHS employees helping them to meet their career potential, develop a high performing team and ensure retention of key talent
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or related EHS field. 7+ years EHS experience, at least 5 of which must be in a senior leadership position, with exposure to several EHS areas in a manufacturing environment and possibly project and servicesFormal HS or Environmental qualificationElectrical Safety expertise
