EHS Manager

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) strategy, policy procedures directed at moving towards continuous improvement in World Class Environmental, Safety and Health for the Lexington Manufacturing Facility. This position is also responsible for the leadership of the EHS group.

The work activity for this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
* Actively pursue and lead continuous improvement in Lexington's culture and compliance.
* Actively pursue and direct a proactive, continuous improvement incident prevention approach
to EHS.
* Continue to refine and inspire action affecting the leading indicators of incident prevention and
culture improvement to EHS.
* Provide safety leadership through example both on and off the job.
* Participate in accident investigations to explore and implement corrective actions to solve root
causes for all Federal, State, and local regulatory inspections.
* Advise, develop, and coordinate with Engineering regarding ergonomic, safety, and
environmental issues in the process and product design.
* Design and deliver EHS policies, programs, communications, and monthly training.
* Collaborate with multiple volunteer teams and employee-led initiatives. Participate, chair, and
support all Safety Committees.
* Monitor/audit EHS groups and advise as necessary throughout the plant.
* Manage the EHS Management System requirements.
* Remain current on information, legislation, and technical advances within EHS
disciplines. Communicate requirements to all levels of management.
* Responsible for Safety budget, EHS balanced scorecard, and performance to plan.
* Participate and establish safety direction and goals for the business unit, which includes the
long-term strategy
* Use Six Sigma statistical process analysis techniques; provide the Leadership Team quarterly
updates with recommendations to continuously improve
* Meet all EHS compliance objectives.
* Manage recycling, non-hazardous, and hazardous waste workcell removal and disposal.
* Travel required.

Per

Bachelor's degree required in industrial safety, safety sciences, safety engineering,
environmental science/engineering or related degree with at least 8 years of directly related
EHS management and supervisory responsibility. Degree must be from a regional or national
accredited institution.
* Results oriented, manufacturing process background.
* One or more safety-related professional certifications desired (i.e. CIH or CSP).
* Comprehensive knowledge of the OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations, experience in the
interpretation of local and state environmental and safety and standards.
* Demonstrated experience in the integration of EHS into the manufacturing process preferred.
* Ability to interact with all levels of plant personnel.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Computer and analytical skills required.
* Six Sigma Green Belt certification or commitment to attain.
