Pentair"€™s Residential Flow GBU is a leading provider of residential water pumps, irrigation and crop spray equipment, and marine and specialty pumps and accessories. It also provides specialty application water management products for recreational vehicles (RV), marine, and mobile fire markets. The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be the established point of contact to manage all aspects of safety, occupational health and environmental for the Delavan, WI manufacturing facility.

This position will work closely with all functional areas to ensure that all parties understand compliance requirements and to ensure they are maintained. This position will engage all employees and effectively lead in a behavior based safety approach to maximize employee safety and drive personal accountability.  Effectiveness in this position will require creative leadership of non subordinate employees working with and through them to maintain facility compliance, and drive behavioral and sustainable results.  

Required Skills:

 

MAJOR AREAS / KEY FUNCTIONS:

Provide leadership in developing, implementing and managing EHS policies, procedures, programs and practices.  This will include and it is not limited to; managing and coordinating a variety of EHS aspects while revitalizing the emphasis in EHS approaches.

Responsible for all EHS compliance with company, local, state, and federal requirements. This will include and it is not limited to; developing schedules, preparing permit applications and submission, including providing documentation to demonstrate compliances with all company and agency requirements.

 Point of contact for all scheduled agency inspections.  Actively participate in internal and external discussions and meetings, with auditors, agencies, consultants EHS corp.  This will include and it is not limited to; participation in corporate sponsored safety environmental audits and compliance reviews in support of the company EHS process.

 Responsible for obtaining air and water permits, as needed, review monthly VOC and emissions records, coordinate timely disposal of hazardous waste and universal waste, maintain proper documentation. Track on time submission of all required reports and forms to appropriate regulatory agencies.

Respond to EHS incidents and leads the on-site emergency response team.  Including providing technical support for on-going problem solving and safety investigations.

Develop effective communication process to make EHS priorities and performance visible. This will include and it is not limited to; consistently coaching and working with facility leadership to be a visible leader on all aspects of EHS such as accident prevention, safe work practices and environmental compliance.

Maintain and develop, when necessary, recordkeeping systems to support demonstration of compliance with requirements. This may include development of tracking spreadsheets and databases.

Point person for all EHS reviews (management of change process) in regards to capital projects, changes, modifications and introductions.  This will include and it is not limited to; safety/environmental impacts, permitting and compliance requirements.  Providing management with details of what will be required and permitting timelines.

Review and inform leadership of any regulatory changes and prepares the site for compliance with these changes.

Oversees training and inspection processes for all EHS programs.

Responsible for effective management of Workers Compensation matters.

REQUIREMENTS:

College degree and 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing 

Experience leading a large facility (700+) or supporting multiple facilities. 

Demonstrated ability to manage through others, facilitation and leadership experience. 

Excellent communication skills (listening, writing, and speaking), ability to influence. 

Ability to analyze, problem solve, and make decisions. 

Ability to understand technical/business aspects of the manufacturing processes. 

Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory documents, then translate for others to understand. 

Ability to actively participate in team development, team-oriented processes, and motivate others to do the same.

Strong aptitude for organization, prioritization, and managing multiple tasks at the same time. 

Attention to detail and the capability to analyze data and make sound conclusions. 

Computer literate (MS Office) with emphasis in spreadsheet and presentation software. 

Experience in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and OSHA VPP is strongly desired. 

Experience in waste reduction/minimization or zero-waste-to-landfill strategies is strongly desired. 

Strong ethics, values and a passion to preserve human life and the environment is strongly desired.
