The Learning Leadership Development (LLD) Department has an opening for a leading eLearning Representative that truly understands that effective learning is about designing and building learner experiences rather than conveying information. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.


Position Purpose:
  The purpose of this position is to: Partner with LLD Representatives and the business to analyze, design and develop action-oriented eLearning experiences that will add value and reinforce the transfer of skills. This includes interactive scenarios, simulations, custom course layouts and design themes. Support the implementation of a new Learning Management System - recommending LMS processes and procedures, adherence to standards, providing best practices to End Users and Administrators.

 

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

·   Scope, design, develop and implement advanced web-based training (WBT) solutions that support Safeway strategic initiatives.

·   Analyze, define, and develop deliverables to achieve the desired business goal (i.e., WBT solution for an initiative).

·   Consult with internal LLD staff and influence the direction of the learning solution for the training lifecycle which may include:

o           Assist in defining scope, messaging and program/project objectives to determine learning components for Safeway initiatives.

o           Perform needs analysis to identify key objectives and skill gaps.

o            Determine learning strategies/solutions for development.

o            Work with subject matter experts to develop curriculums and specific courseware to address key objectives.

o           Oversee internal design, development and delivery of web- or media-based programs and tools.

o           Design and QA course storyboards.

o           Develop interactive and engaging web-based content using eLearning authoring tools.

o           Deliver content via Learning Management System.

o           Define timelines, schedules and execution strategies in conjunction with requirements.

·   Knowledge of major tasks, deliverables, formal methodologies and disciplines for delivering new or enhanced web- or media-based learning solutions.

·   Knowledge of formal methodologies for planning and executing curriculum development.

·   Applies project standards and communicates results with the broader project team.

·   Understand components of running a successful project.

·   Ensure resolution/fulfillment of groups needs post delivery/implementation.

·   Explore new media for innovative approaches to training delivery.

·   Provide tools and templates for subject matter experts and business partners to manage training content and delivery.

·   Support the Learning Management System, including development of user and administrator training, quality assurance of content and providing best practices to administrators.

 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in eLearning Instructional Design/Web Development, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience.

·       5+ years experience in designing and developing eLearning training materials and instructional design preferred.

·       Proven expertise applying adult learning models and methodologies to design action-oriented interactive and engaging content outlines, storyboards and simulations for eLearning.

·       Strong visual design skills - sensitivity to layout, typography, color, and layout.

·       Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and graphic design software e.g. Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator and SNAGIT.

·       Proven experience in producing high-quality interactions, graphics and media components, and simulations using MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (advantageous to also have Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate Studio 09).

·       Exceptional verbal, written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

·       Strong consulting and customer service experience.

·       Project management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

·       Ability to multitask and work effectively in a cross-functional management environment.

·       Proven ability to work autonomously and/or in a dynamic team setting.

·       Attention to detail.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Web development experience with proficiency in HTML/XML/CSS/JavaScript.

·       Proficiency in the use of SmartBuilder tool.

·       Prior experience with Moodle/Totara LMS.

·       Prior experience with LMS Implementations.

·       Retail Industry experience.

·       Video and audio editing experience.
