Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor

UGL Services Unicco Operations has an immediate opening for an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor in Memphis, TN.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Must be able to work and lead personnel in a safety conscious and team oriented environment. Ensures that Electrical/Instrumentation department objectives and key metrics are met by leading and providing site direction of all Electricians, Instrumentation Technician, associated apprentices, and other trades as required through field supervision and communicating with department and customer on any discrepancies noted in service delivery.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Team member must be able to manage and lead personnel with a “Safety First” environment; expectations include, but not limited too; pjha process, observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.

2. Having working knowledge in small projects, and shutdowns, and schedule in order to make the most effective and efficient use of all resources to meet operations needs.

3. Ensure all proper and needed feedback routes back to planning.

4. Must demonstrate leadership and good judgment in approaching decisions.

5. Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, leading and direct supervision of personnel in testing, calibration, and repairs of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, electromechnical, and electronic measuring, recording, indicating and control instruments/equipment.

6. Ensure all repairs and calibrations to be performed in conformance with established standards. Assist in formulating calibration standards/work procedures.

7. Must have working knowledge of the following topics: pH, flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and mass measurements. AC and DC control methods, 24V-13.8KV electrical systems and troubleshooting, VFD’s, burner controls, smart meters, PLC/DCS control methods, automated systems, bad cells, control valves, blueprint reading, mathematics, and preventative/predictive maintenance.

8. Must be able to use hand tools on a daily basis such as power tolls.

9. Willing to work all shifts including holidays and weekends when demanded by the job.

10. Employee will perform any and all other duties that are assigned by the Account Manager.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:

1. Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.

2. Promote UGL Services both internally and externally.

3. Ability to mentor with high standards.

4. Lead team members by allocating time for one on one coaching.

5. Develop and oversee QA/Q6 inspection protocol of all work personnel and work performed.

6. Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals.

7. Communicates with all team members to support the development of short and long range goals and objectives.

8. Teach and promote our services to the customer for value impact to their business.

9. Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner with quality of service according to standards.

10. Ensure accurate administrative duties of all team members; time accounting, job planning, work order completion, ordering materials, work bad assessments.

11. Provide Electrical/Instrumentation expertise to customer. RCA and problem solving/solutions.

12. Oversee that all applicable codes, standards, and specifications are being maintained, including, but not limited to NEC/and state and local laws/and NFPA 10E.

13. Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

14. Work with scheduling to ensure all work is scheduled as required and updated.

15. Allocate resources as required, coordinate shutdowns, contact vendors for plant and maintenance requirements.

16. Ensure team members perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Possess a high school degree or an approved GED. AA degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering or Management is preferred, but not required.

Experience: Possess a minimum of five years experience in industrial maintenance or construction field. Experience in planning/scheduling, supervision, and estimating preferred.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Occasionally work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and others as required)
