Understanding of Pneumatic Systems

Ability to read/interpret/create pneumatic circuit diagrams

 

Ability to understand function of solenoid valves, cylinders, rotary actuators, flow control valves, pressure control valves, and other system components.

 

Ability to spec out a pneumatic system based on process requirements.

 

Understanding of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical Systems

Ability to read/interpret/create electrical/electronic circuit diagrams.

 

Ability to understand function of solid state elements, AC/DC motors, single phase and polyphase AC systems, relays (solid state and coil), and digital logic.

 

Understanding of basic mathematics relating to electrical/electronic systems (Ohms Law, node analysis, basic power calculations, polyphase systems calculations (Delta/Wye), Boolean logic)

 

Understanding of servo control systems, stepper motors, inverters, solenoids,  and industrial robots (IAI preferred).

 

Understanding of sensors (flow, height, pressure, limit switch, etc) and able to integrate sensors into systems.

 

Ablity to spec out an electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems based on process requirements.

 

Understanding of Mitsubishi A, Q, and FX series, and Omron PLCs

 

Read/interpret/create ladder logic diagrams.

 

Read/interpret/edit/create ladder logic programs.

 

Interface sensors and controls (robot controllers, vision systems, servo controls) with PLC

 

Able to spec out a PLC based on process requirements.

 

Understanding of PCs, PC hardware, Operating Systems, and Programming Languages.

Must be able to use DOS, Windows 3.1X up to Windows 7, both Japanese and U.S. versions.

 

Must be able to use basic PC office software (MSOffice, Outlook, Notepad, basic Ethernet

networking, etc)

 

Must understand function and be able to troubleshoot basic PC components (Power supply, hard drives, CD/DVD ROMs, processors, RAM, A/D conversion cards, external drives, etc)

 

Other Abilities

 

●  Must understand mechanical blue prints, and have a working knowledge of geometric tolerance.
