Electrical Engineer - Power Facilities
Primary Job Responsibilities Selected individual will be responsible for performing all aspects of engineering and design in support of industrial clients. Individual must be able to make independent decisions on engineering design challenges and methods. Provide Power and Facility Systems design as part of a project team. Gain familiarity with the client s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks. Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. Provide on-site assistance during construction and start-up. Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead to ensure total project delivery success. Responsibilities include: Design and specification of industrial power distribution and facility systems including medium and low voltage power distribution, motor control, lighting, fire alarm, security and communication systems. Power System Studies, development of project specifications and scope documents, project cost estimates, and system design documentation. Planning your own work. Identifying, recommending and presenting options to team members and clients. Setup, program, modify, and maintain a variety of Power Distribution Control and Monitoring equipment. Training and Experience Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering with a power focus is required. Working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) electrical safety codes, building codes. Familiarity of power systems software including Easy Power and SKM preferred. Familiarity with process industries including Pulp and Paper, Food and Dairy is desirable 2-4 years of experience required. EIT/ PE registration desirable. Other Essential Functions Typical work schedule is four 9 hour days and one four hour day per week, working in either the Green Bay or Appleton, Wisconsin office. Other Requirements Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. No exposure to tobacco smoke.
