ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Job Summary:
Gathers or assists in gathering data from multiple sources, then prepares or assists in preparing engineering calculations, engineering analyses, and engineering studies
Writes, or assists in writing, final reports and makes recommendations
Technical Deviations / Technical Queries - Assists or controls the steps to determine issue, define problem, identify the pros and cons of multiple solutions, and makes recommendations for technical deviations from client specifications or technical queries
Creates or assists in the creation of documentation incorporating relevant information and pursuit of client authorization
Code Variances - Assists or controls the steps of interpreting regulatory codes and amendments, determining issues, defining problem, identifying the pros and cons of multiple solutions
Assists or controls the creation of final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursuit of authorization from the local governing body
Engineering Study Based Procurement - Assists or controls incorporating information from engineering calculations, analyses, and studies into equipment specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions for engineering study based equipment
Assists or controls inter-discipline vendor document review and approval, factory acceptance testing and certification
Design Calculations/Analyses - May gather data or assist in gathering data from multiple sources. May prepare or assist in preparing design calculations and design analyses
Design Based Procurement - May incorporate or assist in incorporating information from design calculations and analyses into equipment specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions for design based equipment
Serve as Electrical Lead or area lead on assigned projects
Interface/oversee electrical design
Support proposal and estimating activities
Assist in preparing home office man-hour estimates
Develop work plans and schedules
Write and review project requirements
Write equipment purchase specifications and data sheets
Prepare bid tabs for electrical equipment
Perform and check engineering calculations such as fault current, load flow, and motor starting
Provide assistance with electrical scopes of work for contract packages
Travel as required for project site visits and equipment inspections
Mentor less experience engineers
Provide audits for other projects
Qualifications:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering required
10+ years of experience in the upstream /downstream petrochemical, oil or gas fields and or onsite refinery experience
Knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures
Licensed Professional Engineer, EIT a plus
Member / Participation in a technical society a plus
Proficiency in ETAP or SKM software a plus
Apply experience and efficiency with increasing independence
Performed responsibilities with increasing initiative
Performed less routine work, and understand the components of project execution related to work performed
Solved varied, but straight-forward problems, analyzing and selecting solutions from learned range alternatives
Typically assigned specific responsibilities within projects, programs, or processes
Proficient with engineering software applications
Solid analytical and problem solving skills
Accuracy and attention to detail important
Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities are important
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
Willingness to travel or to accept field assignments preferred
Ability to work effectively in teams
Apply applicable codes and standards in related discipline
U.S. Citizen or have legal right to work in the USA without sponsorship
