Description: The Mission Support Business Unit (MSBU) is seeking a Power Systems Engineer. The candidate will support the development of equipment related to power transmission and HV/MV/LV distribution lines, electrical substations, protection and control, and transportation infrastructure such as railways. Experience with international power distribution equipment and components is also desired. Researches, designs, develops, modifies, evaluates and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems. Conducts experimental tests on equipment and evaluates results. Develops specifications for selecting components and equipment to use. Candidate should have an understanding of the customer and customer's mission needs. Qualifications : Required Skills: Bachelors degree (or equivalent work experience) and 2 or more years of experience in working with power transmission and distribution lines, and related power systems equipment is required. Experience in designing electrical utility projects including transmission and distribution modeling and simulation studies; control and protection design; and producing schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience with power systems for transportation infrastructure projects is also required. An understanding of US and international safety standards as related to power systems is required. Candidate must have a SECRET level or higher clearance. Desired Skills: Experience with international power distribution equipment and components; experience with utility SCADA systems, remote terminal units, and intelligent electronic devices, and utility communication systems is highly desired. TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years related experience.
