Position: Electrical Engineer
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Location: Ogden, UT
Compensation: $ 100,000+/- (Commensurate with Experience)

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Project Management experience
- High Voltage experience with electrical distribution systems ranging from 480V to 138KV including Substations and MCC’S.
- Experience managing PLC/HMI systems
- Power grid- heavy industrial systems experience
- Heavy industrial background (experience from the Pulp Paper or Lime Cement industries)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Electrical Engineering
- The Electrical Engineer will lead all aspects of electrical engineering at the plant, and acts as the owner of plant power and control systems.
- The role will also be instrumental in plant project engineering and management.
· Responsible for maintaining operational integrity and regulatory compliance of plant’s electrical systems and electrical maintenance programs.
· Maintains electrical data, documentation, and drawings.
· Implement electrical engineering solutions to solve problems and contribute to Operational Excellence.
· Manage all aspects of long-term plant power supply needs and strategies.
· Establish electrical standards and implement management systems to maintain those standards.
· Design for electrical and control components of engineering projects
· Take lead in diagnosis and trouble-shooting of electrical systems.
· Monitor plant power consumption and related charges, and implement techniques and procedures to minimize energy costs.
· Manage all aspects of site PLC/HMI systems to control all processes and provide data required for management of the Plants.
Project Engineering
· Support engineering manager in preparing annual capital budgets.
· Prepare and submit capital appropriation requests, including payback and IRR calculations.
· Prepare scopes of work and engineering specifications as part of the RFQ process
· Develop and manage capital project engineering and construction contracts.
· Manage construction contractors and verify / quality control work performed
· Implement construction/installation strategies that coordinate with plant’s production plans.
· Actively participate in commissioning of engineering projects.
· Manage multiple capital projects ensuring that critical path and budget goals are met.
Maintenance and Reliability
· Identify opportunities to improve plant power and control system reliability.
· Assist maintenance with troubleshooting production equipment
· Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance programs are in place for electrical installations
· Identify and coordinate required electrical training needs to support reliability.
· As directed by Engineering Manager, work with Maintenance Department to implement process improvements and to support reliable asset management objectives.
· As directed by Engineering Manager, work with Production Department to set standards for electrical and control equipment purchases.
Education and Experience
· BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
· Registered Professional Engineering License is a plus
· 5-15+ years electrical engineering experience
· Preference given to those with knowledge and experience working with:
· Allen Bradley based PLC control systems for process and equipment control as well as associated HMI graphics.
· Large DC and AC motor drives control systems which utilize power electronics for variable speed control
· Electrical distribution systems ranging from 480V to 138 kV, including substations and MCC’s.
· Fiber optic and Ethernet based communications systems
· Power factor correction systems
· Electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment.
Computer Skills
· Complete proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required.
· AutoCAD, MS Project, CMMS systems, highly desirable.
· Other EE related software experience a plus.
· Allen Bradley PLC programs (PLC5, ControlLogix, MicroLogix, and DeviceNet) to troubleshoot system challenges
