Experience in design, with basic knowledge in operation, and construction of transmission line and substation design and protection, and overhead and underground distribution facilities is desirable. A working knowledge of computers including, CAD database management, spreadshy;sheets, and word processing is a must. Must be proficient in communicative skills including report writing. Experience with Milsoftrsquo;s WindMil and LightTable programs and Aspenrsquo;s OneLiner program is desirable. A Colorado Registered Professional Engineer is desired. Must have a valid Colorado Driver License.Job Requirements Job Requirements Duties require knowledge of electrical engineering design and construction practices of electric sysshy;tems. A wide range of procedures is used, and the position requires analysis of facts to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practice. Must have a working knowledge of N.E.S.C. and N.E.C. construction regulations and R.U.S. design standards. Duties include a thorough knowledge of IREA design and construction specifications for substations, transmission lines, and overhead and underground distribution systems in order to ensure compliance with Association needs. Must have experience in the design of substation and transmission line relay protection and developing relay settings. Project management activities associated with estimating, scheduling, engineering, economics, and working with consumers, contractors, industrials, and other utilities are necessary. Reports to and receives general direction from the Director of System Planning. The employee plans and arranges own work, referring only unusual cases to the supervisor. Work requires considerable accushy;racy and responsibility. Coordinates with the Operations and Engineering Departments on routine and special projects. Regularly works with some confidential information of major importance, which, if disclosed, could be detrimental to the Associationrsquo;s interests. This job requires normal mental and visual attention. The duties and tasks involve light work and may require the ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds. Physical demands also include walking or hiking on all types of terrain and driving a vehicle for extended periods of time. Working conditions are inside and outside, including possible isolated work areas and exposure to adverse weather conditions.
