Posted Position Title: Electrical Engineer / Technologist Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Product Design and Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Florida City: Pinellas Park Postal Code: 33782-6110 Relocation Assistance No Role Summary/Purpose: The Electrical Design Engineer / Technologist provides technical expertise to support development of embedded Avionics products through new business pursuits, project execution and post design support. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and have the ability to effect business goals. Essential Responsibilities - Develop embedded Avionics products for delivery to our customers - Use technical expertise to perform hardware development tasks - Provide technical input to systems, hardware or software personnel supporting the project - Participate in a multi-disciplinary project team providing technical support to meet project deliverables - Drive new business development - Support project proposal development - Be accountable for meeting project budget targets - Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures - Identify design re-use opportunities to reduce cost and risk - Develop scope-of-work specifications including those of contractors / subcontractors where appropriate - Provide continuity within and across multiple programs to maximize synergies Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: - Willingness and ability to travel at least 10% of the time - Ability and willingness to obtain a Security Clearance - This position requires access to controlled technology. To abide by Export Compliance regulations, candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status. Desired Characteristics - Experience in embedded Military and Commercial Avionics product development - Experience with embedded product development lifecycle within Aerospace or similar controlled industry (hardware or software background) - Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and tools - Strong oral and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Ability to participate in a team in a highly matrix environment - Ability to participate several projects simultaneously - Proven analytical and organizational ability - Capable of developing and writing specifications in an engineering environment - Familiarity and experience with state-of-the-art model-based development, digital hardware / software implementation, testing, and robustness methods - Accept work direction from internal and external Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) members - Participate in a team as team player - Experience participating in requirements definition and trace, design implementation, documentation, testing, verification and production support efforts - Ability to tailor process and limit scope on project to provide the most cost effective solution to internal and external customers - Experience with Embedded Hardware Development using schematic entry, VHDL, and / or FPGAs - Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems - Familiarity with Military Standard (MIL STD) design requirements and specifications - Strong planning and organizational skills - Willingness to take ownership of projects - Ability to manage concurrent assignments - Personal Computer (PC) proficiency (Microsoft Office) Why join one great company when you can join many?
