Low/Mid Voltage Electrical Estimator

We have an immediate opening for a talented Senior Electrical Estimator working from our NY office. We are a successful Mid-size Industrial/Commercial Electrical Contractor, specializing in Electrical contracting for Industrial (healthcare/manufacturing facilities) and Commercial (Data Center design-build) projects located in NYC area. We handle everything from low voltage to high voltage work and everything in between.

Must have 10+ years HANDS-ON experience as an electrical estimator for an Industrial/Commercial Electrical Contracting company and have excellent time management skills with ability to meet critical estimating deadlines. Responsible for providing accurate electrical estimates, ability to interpret plans and specifications for electrical portion of project plans, generate take-offs from blueprints, generation and resolution of RFIs/change orders and produce/assist purchasing department with detailed bill of materials for submittals and project buyout
Must be able to Manage multiple large estimating projects (up to $10M) concurrently/simultaneously. Must be Proficient with computers and programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with experience in OR the ability to learn Estimating Software including Timberline, Accubid, McCormick, Vision. **This Team member will be capable of independently managing ALL aspects of the Electrical Estimating portion of the project.
**MUST have excellent time management skills and be able to meet deadlines!!!

Job requirements:
- MUST be a US citizen due to government clients building access requirements!
- 10 years experience with an Industrial/Commercial Electrical Contractor with full estimating responsibility for electrical portion of industrial/commercial design/build projects.
- Ability to Accurately estimate electrical plans and Generate/negotiate change orders.
- Able to estimate electrical and provide take-off from blueprints
- Electrical estimating experience with Industrial (healthcare/aerospace/manufacturing) and/or Commercial (data center design/build) projects involving Critical Power: UPS, power supplies, cabling, surge protection, etc.
- MUST have excellent time management skills, be able to prioritize important issues and meet critical estimating deadlines
- Experience Assisting superintendents during construction, holding meetings and documenting construction proceedings.
- Ability to guide staff and other team members.
- Excellent reasoning and negotiating skills.
- Prefer experience in OR at a minimum to have the ability to learn, Estimating Software including Accubid, McCormick, Vision, etc.
- Proficient with computers and MS Office, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and as a plus AutoCAD and/or Prolog.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both orally and written, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously/concurrently.
- Excellent English verbal and written skills

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

- Senior Electrical Estimator
- Accurately estimate Industrial/Commercial electrical plans and Generate/negotiate change orders as assigned
- Interpret plans and specifications for electrical portion of project plans.
- Produce and assist purchasing with detailed bill of materials for submittals and project buyout.
- Generation and resolution of RFI’s.
- Generation of schedule of values and cost coding for all tasks included in estimates.
- Sequencing work with the general contractor.
- Create project schedules and update throughout the construction process.
- Pre-planning with superintendent and field personnel.
- Perform job walks with contractors and owners as assigned.
- Perform conceptual budgets for design build projects.
- Ability to work with engineers and architects to design build projects.
- Fulfilling contractual requirements.
- Documenting problems and resolving in a timely, professional manner.
- Project closeout documentation.
- Market our services to new contractors and owners as required to maintain sales and create new opportunities.
