We are currently recruiting an Electrical Instrument and Metering Engineer for a global energy market leading company based in Brisbane, Queensland. The Role
The purpose of this role is to provide engineering support as part of the Upstream Operations - Field team responsible for the operational input into all physical plant and associated equipment derived from upstream projects.
You will support the design of the facilities, specifically from the perspective of electrical, control and instrumentation elements, including: calculations and optimisations for electrical specifications, design criteria and definitions for equipment and bulk material and also for the calculation, design, layout and specification of all process electrical, control and instrumentation systems.
Job Duties
- Establish and maintain plant and equipment design procedures and confirm compliance.
- Engineer for all electrical, instrument and metering related changes and provide discipline specific advice into the management of change process.
- Maintain design bases for application by internal and external staff to enhance infrastructure engineering and asset integrity.
- Ensure plant engineering compliance within operations (e.g., JV requirements, permits, legislative approvals).
- Development of new coal bed methane specific procedures and operating practices and prepare dispensation requests against company standards.
- Participate in operations interfaces across projects and multi-disciplines during FEED, detailed design and construction.
- Participate in production and maintenance engineering reviews and asset optimisation processes.
Skills/Experience Required
- Demonstrated record in electrical, instrument and metering engineering role in a heavy engineering environment, preferably involving the operation of gas processing and compression systems.
- High voltage experience and licensed to isolate and switch high voltages.
- Proven experience in the development of engineering policies/procedures.
- Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Experience with, and commitment to, engineering systems, procedures and quality assurance.
- Experience of evaluating and advising on non invasive maintenance strategies and interpretation of condition based monitoring data.
- Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
