Electrical Technician* Job in Branchburg, New Jersey US
Overview:
Agfa Corporation's plate manufacturing facility located in Branchburg, New Jersey produces analog as well as thermal, visible light and chemistry-free digital plates that offer advanced solutions for different printing applications. Approximately 180 employees in manufacturing, engineering support and other administrative and production support functions work in this facility.
Our Branchburg, New Jersey location is looking for an Electrical Technician to join our team.
The purpose and scope of this role is to provide support to the production and facilities operations in the areas of emergency, preventive, and predictive maintenance. All of this will be achieved through close interaction with plant engineering, production operators and supervisors, and by completed each work assignment through a sense of ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, hydraulic and motor drive failures to their root cause and make repairs.
- Utilize electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, personal computers, calibrators, signal generators, ammeters and insulation testing instruments to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment faults.
- Setup and calibrate instrumentation.
- Write periodic inspection and preventative maintenance procedures for maintaining process and packaging equipment
- Perform periodic inspection and preventative maintenance procedures
- Advise management of opportunities to improve equipment reliability and detail improvement requirements
- Advise and train general electricians in troubleshooting, repair, maintenance of process and wrapping equipment.
- Read and interpret SOP's, drawings, schematics, manuals, and reference materials
- Utilize computerized maintenance management system for information processing
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Ability to identify, quantify, prioritize and execute work; decision making skills
- Experience working on cross-function teams at various levels in the organization; able to develop and nurture a strong working relationship with production personnel
- Ability to operate independently with general boundaries and objectives
- Microsoft Excel and Word

- Comfortable with PLC's, Instrumentation controls (Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level, pH) relay logic, AC / DC drives and motor control
