This position is located out of our Bonnyville office and reports to the Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing safe, reliable and efficient operation of IPF’s pipeline assets. This includes, but is not limited to, the day-to-day management of pipeline operations activities, as well as identifying and utilizing the right resources and systems to help manage and execute these activities. An understanding and commitment to EHS policies and procedures, as well as compliance management from a regulatory perspective, also play an important part in ensuring success in this position.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient movement of petroleum products within our crude oil and condensate pipeline systems
- Ensuring all electrical and operational activities comply with regulatory, industry, and company standards
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and compliance checks on motors, pumps, meters, valves, VFD’s, UPS systems, HVAC’S and auxiliary electrical and measurement accuracy equipment
- Maintain current and accurate electrical drawings and as-builds
- Assist with maintaining the following:
- PLC equipment
- Scada equipment
- installation and replacement of field devices and instruments including
transmitters and switches
- Perform operational tasks such as equipment integrity checks, measurement accuracy, product quality control verification, month end cutoff, custody transfer meter proves, may manage line locating and foreign pipeline crossing activities as required, pipeline maintenance
- Ensure that all tools, testing equipment and assigned vehicles are in good operating condition
- Maintain appropriate records and documents and submit reports as required
- Oversee contract labor work and ensure that safe practices and procedures are adhered to
- Act as a company representative and liaison with shippers, landowners, contractors and vendors
- Maintain critical spare parts inventory
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to existing facilities to reduce operating risks and or costs
- Maintain appropriate records and documents and submit reports as required
- Develop and update safe work practices, procedures, and job task analysis
- Provide support to Engineering for project
- Participate in safety, operations and project meetings
- Work schedule: 40 hours - 10 hours per day work week
- Support 24hr on-call rotation, including weekends
Education, Skills and Experience
- A Journeyman Electrician certification is required
- Related pipeline operations, electrical/instrumentation experience is beneficial
- Demonstrated proficiency with equipment, electrical and/or instrumentation
- Computer proficiency and excellent interpersonal, problem solving and economic thinking skills are strong assets for this position
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Current H2S Alive, TDG and First Aid certification is also an asset
