Electrician Job in Aberdeen, Maryland US

Basic Minimum Qualifications:
* Four (4) years trade school or electrical apprenticeship or demonstrated equivalent.
* Eight+ 8+) years experience as a licensed electrician.
* Journeyman license.
* Must possess knowledge of:
o Various electrical testing/recording equipment.
o Hazards and safety practices common to the trade.
o Industrial equipment control systems.
o The National Electrical Code ( NEC )
* Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications
* Strong mechanical background.
* High voltage switch gear experience.
* Familiarity with Rite Aid distribution center and/or warehouse operations.
* Customer Service experience
* Experience with Three(3) phase electrical systems up to 600 volts

Physical Requirements
1. Requires the ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
2. Requires the ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access databases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
3. Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
4. Work around high voltage
5. Heavy lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, walking, standing for prolonged periods of time.
6. Knowledgeable in the use of electrical test equipment and a variety of hand tools.
7. Work in adverse weather conditions
8. Some tasks may require repetitive wrist movements.

Special Requirements:
1. Must wear steel-toed safety shoes, safety glasses and gloves.
2. Coping with demands (stresses) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
3. Keyboard skills and visual activity associated with the use of keyboards and terminals.
4. Must be able to respond to emergency alarms.
5. Requires the ability to operate forklifts, power and hand material moving equipment.
6. Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one on one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.

Job Description:
URS has an Electrician position available at our client's facility in Aberdeen, MD!

Job Concept:
Inspect, repair, modify and maintain site electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment. Maintaining and reporting site maintenance schedule.

Essential Functions:
1. Maintains professional and courteous customer relations including, client, vendor, and internal team.
2. Active participation in safety meetings. Maintains safety work practices as define by URS.
3. Ensure all work conforms to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
4. Perform all site electrical work (either by Electrician or URS company sponsored electrical apprentice)
5. Conduct tests and inspections of equipment and services for the purpose of evaluating their performance.
6. Install electrical equipment and wiring in accordance with defined specifications
7. Determine the causes of any operating errors and make the decision on how to repair the malfunction using the appropriate tools.
8. Determine routine maintenance for specific equipment and be able to perform such as needed.
9. Ensure that new electrical work performed is inspected and approved by the Harford, MD County Board.
10. Coordinate work of electrical subcontractors.
11. Understand and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and instructional manuals.
12. Adhere to business code of conduct and other URS policies and protocols.

Hours / Schedule: 5 - 8 hour days, Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Hours may vary. Weekend, Holiday and overtime work could be required.
