Albin Engineering Services, Inc. (www.aesi.com) is searching for a Electro-Mechanical Designer to work as our Employee, on a 4 to 8 month contract for one of our premier clients in Fremont, CA. Our client is a major supplier of wafer fabrication equipment and services to the worldwide semiconductor industry. Job Description:

The Contract Electro-mechanical engineer will work with engineers to develop sub-assemblies of etch process equipment. Daily work will involve design of electro-mechanical packages through CAD modeling, plus some generation of estimates, project scoping, design reviews and interaction with buyers/suppliers.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

- Design electro-mechanical packages, utilizing a CAD program such as SolidWorks
- Design time on CAD (about 80%)
- Specific design projects include:
a. RF matching/precision electro-mechanical design
b. Chamber machined parts design
c. Coatings/anodyne design
d. Electro-mechanical packaging. Enclosing the system
- Other duties (about 20%). Other duties include making estimates, scoping projects, talking with buyers/suppliers
- Provide technical and professional support to business projects emphasizing new and unreleased products
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks with responsibilities of instituting and participating in corrective actions and following through to assure proper release and hand off of solutions to Technical Services and Field Process/Field Service organizations
- Actively participate in project team activities to help team accelerate design to release duration while providing field data or considerations to all design or project activities
- Assist more senior engineers in the analysis of research data and product specifications
- Acquire and apply basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems
- Conducts and may design well defined experiments and tests pertaining to the development of new methods, processes, hardware, standards, modification of current material components, software, or process specifications and the resolution to complex technical problems
- Collect data, may analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations
- Contribute as required, in the design, analysis, prototype build, software or process development, evaluation, and complete bottom up product documentation for pre-production release
- Will provide support to a variety of projects with supervision required.

Job Requirements:

- Semiconductor equipment mechanical design background desirable
- 10 years experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling in a program such as SolidWorks or Pro-E
- Vacuum technology experience
- Familiarity with ANSI standards
- Experience with RF shielding desirable
- Ability to make presentations to small groups of managers and fellow engineers
- Ability to work independently
