Our client is a globally recognised leader in the field of motorsport.


They are currently seeking a capable Electrochemist to act as a technical liaison, between our client and their suppliers, to further their understanding and technological base with respect to energy storage in electrochemical cells.


The successful incumbent will be at the forefront of electrochemical developments, improving aspects such as degradation and power / energy density.


Responsibilities will include keeping abreast of the leading edge of worldwide electrochemical cell research and development. To work with and direct cell suppliers to develop cells with greater power density. To manage the development of projects amongst academia and suppliers to develop high energy density cells. Work to understand and improve the degradation mechanism of electrochemical cells and also examine failed electrochemical cells to elucidate the failure mechanism and ways of improving the product.


The successful incumbent will need to have a rounded knowledge of cell electrochemistry and of leading / conducting research and development projects. Having experience of Li ion cell chemistry, manufacture and problem resolution and experience of cell testing is essential. You may have a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Electrochemistry with a few years commercial exposure.
