Job summary

Drew Technologies Inc. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of automotive in-vehicle network communication devices. Our products are used by all the major worldwide vehicle manufacturers and their dealerships for new vehicle engineering, J2534 and OBD validation, and system diagnostics.  

Due to continued growth and new product  introductions, Drew Technologies Inc. has an opening for  an  electronic technician. The electronic technician will be responsible for supporting the engineering and manufacturing departments throughout all phases of product development,  continual improvement, manufacturing and repair.

Essential Job Responsibilities

·         Product manufacture, final assembly and test to  meet customer and internal delivery schedules while conforming to  quality requirements.

·         Assist engineering with  product development process.

·         Assist engineering to  establish product sub-assembly and final test processes.

·         Assist engineering in product validation testing.

·         Repair and upgrade of customer product  returns.

·         Create and maintain manufacturing documentation.

·         Perform other tasks as required by management.

Job Qualifications

·         2 year  Associates degree or Vocational/Certification  in electronic technology or related field.

·         5 years+  experience in electronic manufacturing.

·         IPC-A-610E assembly standard understanding -  IPC  J-STD-001 certification preferred.

·         Manual solder and desolder proficiency of fine pitch components.

·         Ability to  troubleshoot to  component level using electrical schematics

·         Embrace continual improvement and systematic problem solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D.

·         High interpersonal skill level and team oriented attitude - accept change as an opportunity to  excel.

·         Use digital multi-meter (AC CD volts current, resistance) O-scope, frequency generator, frequency counter.

·         Knowledge of PC hardware configuration and software installation - proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint.

·         Safe operation of power hand tools and automatic soldering equipment.

·         Ability to  lift 23 kg.
