Position Description
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work as product manager on the Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading (MSET) desk. Qualified candidates have a strong background in electronic trading, business analysis, technical writing, and cross-team coordination and communication. The successful candidate must be able to understand complex client trading scenarios, data rules and logic, manage numerous simultaneous projects, and be an active contributor to strategic and technical discussions.

MSET product manager responsibilities:
The primary role for this position is to ensure that vendor/custom EMS/OMS platforms are updated with the latest MS algorithms. This will require working with peers in North America and Asia to effectively manage and maintain relationships with EMS/OMS vendors globally. This role will also need to manage client on boarding process for clients trading multi asset classes with MSET and other parts of the Institutional Equity Division (IED).
As part of the MSET product team, the role of the product manager is to work with other product managers / desk strategists within MSET and others desks in IED and contribute towards MSET business initiatives in his/her product space.
Overall, the position requires extensive interaction with Morgan Stanley clients, external vendors and IT teams in the region and globally. As such, strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Skills Required
Relevant experience in electronic trading on multi asset classes (Equities, Derivatives and Swaps), with focus on direct market access and algorithmic trading.
• Extensive knowledge of FIX protocol
• Experience with execution/order management systems
• Professional functional specification, use case, process flow diagram and product documentation writing
• Project management background: ability to successfully manage and prioritize numerous simultaneous large projects, small tasks and ad-hoc requests
• Ability to work independently and to drive projects to completion, while proactively ensuring project teams and relevant stakeholders are kept up to date and expectations properly managed
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to succinctly articulate complex concepts
• Effective time management, relationship management, negotiation and prioritization skills
• Thorough knowledge componentized applications, data models and referential data sources
• Background in web-based and custom desktop application development
