This position is located in our VA, Norfolk facility

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide technical support and assistance to conduct AN/SPY-1 Integrated Class Maintenance Plan (ICMP) assessments and other types of assessments as necessary. Technical support includes identification and resolution of all system faults and anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems in AN/SPY-1A and AN/SPY-1B/D Systems.

2. Provide onboard maintenance training to ship's force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of the above listed systems.

3. Perform functional checks and program review support for AN/SPY-1 systems.

4. Report findings/discrepancies as required to the designated TEAM LEADER and/or code Section Head via 2-kilo, Prisms/ETC Software, MAF and/or Technical Assistance Visit Report (TAVR)as appropriate within five working days of completion of individual tasking as applicable.

1. In-depth knowledge of AN/SPY-1A and AN/SPY-1B/D Systems including a minimum of five (5) years total hands on experience in troubleshooting and repair of the following sub-systems of the AN/SPY-1 system (experience may be concurrent): a) Transmitters, b) Signal Processors, c) High Voltage Power Supplies, and d) Antennas.
2. Hands on experience with conducting Integrated Class Maintenance Plan (ICMP) events is a plus.
3. High School Diploma or GED, plus technical/vocational/military training.
4. Associates Degree preferred.
5. NAVSEA certified for copper and Fiber Optic connectors is a plus.

General Experience: A minimum of six (6) years full-time hands-on technical experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of electrical/electronic systems/equipment incorporated in Combat or C4I Systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Hands on experience with the AN/SPY-1A and AN/SPY-1B/D systems/equipment including troubleshooting, repair, and assessments.
2. Special electronic repair skill abilities or certifications such as basic/advanced soldering, wire-wrap, and/or connectorization.
3. Experience gained at a MOTU, FTSC, RMC, or OEM is not required, but is a plus.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the fabrication, testing, and modification of electronics components.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of an ability to use the related tools, equipment, and systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Some portions of the work is typically performed in an industrial, shipboard, or shipyard environment, which requires proper safety precautions. The work requires moderate physical effort in the handling of materials, tools, cables, and other equipment. Must be able to carry up to 50 pound loads.
