EM Fixed Income Execution Trader
They are looking for an outstanding Fixed Income emerging market Execution Trader to work alongside the Portfolio Managers. The Fixed Income team has over 6 portfolio managers and two senior traders who work on Fixed income and Currency markets.
The successful candidate must have the ability to be a value-added partner with existing fixed income traders, portfolio managers and research analysts in the surveillance of the fixed income market (and/or currency) and the execution of portfolio strategy. Ability to assemble and review data, identify potential trading opportunities and execute in the emerging markets fixed income and currency markets is required. Actively participate in the portfolio strategy discussions and develop to grow into an assistant portfolio manager role.
You will be involved in fixed income transactions with an emphasis on Emerging Markets rates and derivatives. Whilst sitting next to portfolio managers your role will take on a quasi-portfolio manager element as you will be expected to generate trade ideas consistent with investment strategies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Proficient in the identification of potential fixed income trading opportunities and communicating them to the portfolio managers and research staff.
- Proficient in purchasing and selling investments independently and carrying out the most efficient acquisition or disposal strategy as directed by the portfolio managers.
- Works with other traders and portfolio managers to ensure investment decisions are consistent with portfolio objectives and constraints.
- Can manage all aspects of operating the trading desk and lead investment team meetings to provide full and accurate market information.
- Along with other traders, serve as liaison between Wall Street community, portfolio managers, credit analysts and clients.
- Works with the research staff and portfolio managers to quantify and interpret the financial impact of an opportunity and the risks and rewards, including likely return on investment and pay-back period.
- Monitors market movements, the economy, issuer events and regulatory environment to develop relative value opinions and market outlook.
The successful candidate is likely to:
• Have approximately 5 years of relevant fixed income trading experience. Ideally this will have been gained on the Buy side, although strong Sell side applicants will also be considered;
• Demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge of fixed income and/or currency markets. This must include experience of Emerging Markets;
