EM Fixed Income Strategist recruitment

UBS fixed income and currency strategy team are looking for an EMEA fixed income strategist. This is a publishing role, and is based in London. We welcome applications from candidates who have a thorough understanding of fixed income analytics and decent grasp of credit and macro analysis. The typical applicant will have a strong Master’s degree in Finance, Physics, Mathematics or Economics with 4-6 years experience in the financial markets, particularly in research or asset management. Knowledge of emerging markets will be seen as a big advantage. The successful candidate should expect to be constantly challenged by a closely knit global network of team colleagues, internal sales/trading and external clients. In terms of day to day duties the role will involve maintaining analytics, publishing trade ideas and marketing them to sales/trading and real money and hedge fund managers.

The successful candidate will join the EMEA Fixed Income Strategy Team
- Currently, the team is composed of 9 members (3 in Stanford, 3 in London, 1 in Singapore, and 2 in India).
- The available position is for the London Office

You are a candidate with a strong interest in Fixed Income markets, highly developed interpersonal skills, and eager to improve your skills set and be exposed to a global business environment.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
– Previous Fixed Income related experience (strongly preferred);
– Good understanding of Fixed Income products, both bonds and derivatives (strongly preferred);
– PhD or Master in physics, mathematics, or finance;
– Highly quantitative;
– Very strong Excel skills;
– Good knowledge of programming (at least VBA programming)
– Fluent written and spoken English;
