We are currently looking for an EMA Advocacy Manager

 

One of the main goals for the position is to identify opportunities to drive effective advocacy programs to support the business, such as initiatives to increase fire safety standards for key growth opportunities in EMA or to reduce mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants. This type of activity is expected to expand to other Albemarle businesses as needed.

 

More specifically, he/she will be responsible for:

 

§         Driving our corporate sustainability initiatives and advocacy strategy in the EU region. 

§         Influencing legislation, and both voluntary and legislative/regulatory standards in Europe in the end markets that use its chemical products.

§         Taking our stakeholder development and lobbying activities to new and different levels with the following stakeholder groups: regional, national and EC politicians and regulatory officials, trade organizations, customers, manufacturers and marketers of consumer goods, and NGOs.  

§         Serving as our media contact on fire safety issues, and drive a proactive media campaign in Europe.  

 

The profile:

 

§         Have a Bachelor degree or above, major in Science, Marketing, Public Relationship or related discipline, with minimum 10 years of related experience, and strong organizational and administrative skills.

§         Have excellent communication skills and be effective at developing relationships.

§         Be already well networked with decision makers such as national and EC government agencies and officials, marketers and manufacturers of consumer goods and trade and media groups

§         Be fluent in English and at least one or two other main EU languages from the following list: German, French, Italian and Dutch.

§         Be capable to operate autonomously, with a sense for initiative and have excellent inter-personal and influencing skills

§         Be able to work with a team and handle different tasks, flexible

§         Be able to travel and conduct business outside of Belgium when necessary
