We are a small, innovative and creative indigenous electronics company based in Limerick city centre. We are now recruiting a software development engineer for an immediate start. We have retained PBRecruitment to identify the successful individual. This is a permanent job, based full time on site in Limerick City, and this job offers you a challenging and fun work environment with the opportunity to work on very advanced “bleeding edge” technology projects.
Our requirement is for a Software Developer to work on a new product based on an Embedded Linux Platform. You will be required to work on the entire project, so you will have a real opportunity to become the "in house expert" on this product! The primary programming language used will be JAVA and knowledge of the 'C' programming language will be a definite advantage.
The product will use the following components and so the candidate should have a good knowledge of each:
1. Embedded Linux
2. Java in a Real Time Data processing environment with limited system resources.
3. Web Servers and Web page development for embedded Linux platforms
4. RS232 Serial Communications with a knowledge if SPI and I2C a definite advantage.
5. TCP/IP Communications
6. 3G or GPRS connections to the internet.
Knowledge in any of the following would be useful; .NET, C#, ZigBee, SQL Server, and IIS.
