Embedded Java Swing (GUI) Application Developer Job in Alameda, California US

We are assisting our client located in Alameda, CA with their need for a Java Swing Application Developer who has can develop control applications for sophisticated video processing products.
 

 

Responsibilities:

-   Develop Java/Swing control applications for a growing video product line.

-Analyze system requirements and develop Java control and GUI applications with lead software designers and Product Marketing Managers.

-Prioritize, schedule, track, and coordinate the development, verification and release of your code with other hardware software engineers and program managers.

-Verify software functionality both in your own test environment as well as in conjunction with the rest of the project team and system test engineers.

-Effectively communicate ideas, objectives and plans both internally and outside the Software team.

 

Qualifications Requirements:

-  BS or MS degree in EE, CS, or Mathematics or equivalent. -    
-  Strong (5+ years) of hands on experience in Core Java. Certification Preferred.

-  Strong (5+ years) of hands on experience developing and deploying Java Swing applications and applets.

- Proven experience developing Rich Client GUI.

-  Strong hands on experience in Java Multithreading.
-  Strong hands on experience using Java Parsers like SAX and DOM.

- Strong proven experience in Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns.

- Solid Experience in UML.

 

Desired Skills:

-  Computer Networking experience highly desired.

- J2EE /Java Server side technologies like RESTful Web Services highly desired.

- Experience in C/C++ highly desired.

- Cross platform development and deployment (Windows and Linux) highly desired.

- Working knowledge of Embedded Systems interfacing with Java technologies.

 

Bonus Skills:

Experience with one or more of the following would be a big plus: -  Knowledge of uncompressed video standards protocols (DVI, YPrPb, EDID, HDCP, etc.)

- Experience in Java Script

- Experience in frameworks like Hibernate and Spring.

- GUI Design experience
