Embedded Software Engineer Job in Lincoln, Rhode Island US

We are looking for an individual with a passion for state-of-the-art embedded design, development, debug, and maintainance for our industry leading mobile and stationary printer products. Responsible for the development of printer firmware and applications using C/C++ programming languages. Interfaces with other software and hardware engineers, application developers, purchasing, manufacturing personnel, field engineers, and customers. Individual is required to work with a minimum of supervision towards a stated goal.

1. Participate in software and applications development projects.
2. Maintain and support existing software.
3. Develop Unit and Acceptance Tests, and assist in documenting clear, concise and thorough test procedures to support verification that the software satisfies all product requirements.
4. Create and maintain project schedules and report on project status, activities and issues.
5. Ensure software developed satisfies Zebra's quality standards, and is implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
6. Work with customers, other engineers, Sales and Marketing to understand project/customer requirements and translate these into solutions.
7. Work with Quality, Service and Manufacturing organizations to ensure that Zebra products are delivered and maintained to the highest standards possible.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering required. Master's preferred.
Experience - 5-10 years experience in software development using C/C++
Knowledge of microprocessor architecture, QNX, and other embedded real-time operating systems
Experience in wireless technologies such as 802.11 and Bluetooth as well as networking.
