Embedded Software Engineer Job in Rockville, Maryland US

Data Design Corporation (DDC) designs and manufactures embedded electronic solutions for Intelligence, Defense, and Commercial markets.  Our innovative products have captured the interest of customers and investors, and the company is poised for exponential growth over the next two years.  To support that growth, DDC is hiring creative, team-minded individuals with top skills in their areas of expertise and a commitment to success.

DDC is seeking an Embedded Software Developer (Linux) to support customer projects and corporate product development efforts in Rockville, MD.  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, developing device drivers, kernel modules, board support packages and low-level software in support of DDC’s embedded electronic solutions.  Primary development platform is embedded Linux.

Requirements:
• US citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline (2 years of work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education)
• 5+ years of related experience
• Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
­ Writing device drivers
­ Writing kernel modules
­ Writing board support packages, boot loaders, file systems, or interrupt service routines
­ RTOS, advance memory management, multi-core programming, multi-threaded application development
• Proficient with communication protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, USB, Ethernet)
• Understanding of agile development methodologies and use of design patterns
• Proven requirements analysis and problem-solving capabilities
• Successful working collaboratively in a team environment

Desired skills/education:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience in SW reverse engineering, low-level programming, bit-level data analysis, or mobile platforms (Android)
• Experience in code and resource optimization

• Eligibility for TS/SCI
