EMEA Financial Controller – Financial Services recruitment

The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance management team with the aim of educating, encouraging and developing staff members and setting the standards and qualities to be achieved and maintained. The role is to fully support the European CFO and is required to ensure that a strong control environment is maintained and that good governance is applied across the European Finance operational platform.

Responsibilities:

• This individual will be responsible for 3 direct reports and 14 indirect reports (along with oversight of 3 European regional offices).

• The core responsibilities call heavily on the support and development of staff, strong leadership and the ability to ensure the control platform not only maintains levels to deal with current demands but can be developed to deal with additional business demands as they arise.

• In addition to core Financial Reporting, your remit will also cover FX Reporting and Regulatory Reporting along with generation of management reports for senior decision makers in the business

• The candidate is key to the continued success of the Finance function and will need to quickly understanding the people, platform and environment and be able to lead and support the teams under their responsibility.

• Process improvements around current Financial Reporting processes.

Experience:

• The candidate should be a qualified ACA / ACCA (first time passes) professional who has gained experience of the Financial Services Industry in the UK either directly or in a “Big 4” audit firm.

• They should possess a strong accounting background with knowledge of UK GAAP / US GAAP / IFRS. An understanding of Partnership accounting would be an advantage;

• It is vital that they have solid experience of balance sheet reconciliation management and ownership; they should have gained hands on experience of managing group consolidations, and restructures
