EMEA IB Finance Analyst – Equity recruitment

Develop and deliver analysis and advice that helps business leaders make the decisions that drive performance.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

• Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders e.g. Equity Front Office in the decision making process to fully understand business drivers and issues

• Presentation of financial and strategic analyses to senior management, business managers and other departments within the Firm

• Provide analysis to assess business performance against targets (budgets/forecasts etc.) and in relation to balance sheet/risk metrics

• To take full ownership of product areas within the Equity Franchise as a finance business partner

•To manage and develop 1 direct report, and liaise with Global IB Finance counterparts in other regions (US, Singapore, Pune, Switzerland)

• To be the lead co-ordination point for the Equity EMEA budget forecasting process

• Reengineer existing processes to drive efficiency and create capacity within the team for further analysis and business advisory.

• To develop a thorough understanding of the investment banking products as appropriate

• To have an interest in and current knowledge of financial markets as they affect investment banking in general. Some experience in financial analysis of banks is ideal, either in an investment banking (equity research/corporate finance) or consulting capacity.

• To achieve the above it will be necessary to understand learn many of the bank's financial systems (reporting systems/ ledger, MI Legal Entity structures, data feeds etc.)

• To be able to develop a wide network across various stakeholders e.g. product Control, other areas of IB Finance regionally globally, Expense Management Shared Services.

• Given the especially dynamic and volatile nature of the business much of the above will need to be achieved to short deadlines but with high levels of accuracy.

Key clients are senior business leaders across each product of IB, senior regional management and country management teams.

The demands on IB Finance from the executive team that manages our global business are constantly changing and expanding, driven by a number of factors including execution of ambitious strategies for IB and the EMEA region, market volatility, increased regulator scrutiny and new regulatory capital regime.

The London based team comprises 25 finance professionals; The team reports to the Global Head of IB Finance and Strategy who manages a team of 150+ across US, EMEA and Asia.

• Experienced in working in a professional and demanding environment with tight deadlines and pressure to deliver accurate work quickly.

Degree educated, chartered accountant (ACA or CIMA) with a proven track record of progression in a top tier organization.

As noted above, the investment banking business is a challenging and dynamic environment and clients are very demanding. Hence, the candidate needs to be able to demonstrate a strong character, show a high level of commitment / dedication to work and to operate with a positive attitude. It will sometimes be necessary to work extended hours or possibly travel overseas at short notice.
