EMEA Tax Specialist recruitment
For one of our clients, a multinational company based in Geneva, we are seeking an
EMEA Tax Specialist
Responsibilities:
Actively reinforce the Global Tax team in the EMEA region. Ownership of the tax accounting and risk provisioning impacts of European operations and trading operations. SOX support relevant to tax accounting and reporting processes. Transfer pricing support: providing analytical support in the application, interpretation and administration of transfer pricing policies in the region.
Tax accounting and reporting
- Responsible for developing the components of the corporate income tax provision for EMEA,
- Working together with the local finance teams throughout the region and under the direction of the HQ-based tax financial reporting leader
Tax risk management
- Determine appropriate reserving for potential tax exposures of EMEA entities, within Group policy, including legal analysis of risks under US GAAP standards for reporting uncertain tax positions.
SOX compliance
- Supporting and documenting EMEA tax processes relevant to tax accounting and reporting in accordance with SOX
Transfer pricing
- Analytical support for the application, interpretation and administration of transfer pricing policies in the region (working together with the local finance teams and very closely with the finance team of the Swiss based trading company).
- Transfer pricing documentation.
Profile:
- Professional Designation in Accounting (e.g. CA, CPA, ACMA) and Tax (e.g. CTA) preferred, with minimum 5 to 6 years specializing in tax (including international tax) or relevant corporate experience managing international tax matters.
- Tax accounting in a multinational context with extensive and complex European operations
- Transfer pricing in tax efficient trading structures
- General concepts of European corporate taxation
- Broad knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS and specifically of provisions relevant to income tax accounting (FAS 109, FIN 48, FAS 5, FIN 18)
- Experience managing Sarbanes-Oxley for tax processes
- Experience with public company financial reporting and disclosure requirements
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, research and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English
- Functional French desirable
