-- Emergency Management Planner, Senior-01117429 Description Key Role: Provide support as an operational planner for emergency management preparedness and disaster operations planning. Ensure close coordination between the respective staffs to optimize performance and cross-functional expertise. Coordinate performance, measurement, and reporting and minimize cost expenditures. Manage projects with up to 10 staff, multiple subcontractors, and consultants. This position is located in Kansas City, MO with additional locations in Nebraska, Iowa, or Kansas. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: -10 years of experience as an operational planner -8 years of experience with emergency management preparedness and disaster operations planning -5 years of experience in project management with 10 staff -Experience with disaster response and recovery planning -Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role -Experience with the management of government contracts -Knowledge of emergency management preparedness programs and principles -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree Additional Qualifications: -Experience with planning and supporting state, county, or local emergency management agencies preferred -Ability to manage numerous complex and time-critical support activities simultaneously -Ability to show a federal, state, or local background check or Security Clearance within the past 10 years preferred -BA or BS degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field -Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) Designation preferred -AEM Certifications preferred Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
