Topping 65,000 visits per year, our Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department is part of the Stroke Center and Heart Center, and also boasts a new Pediatric Emergency Unit. We offer 24/7 in-house and on-call physician’s coverage from a wide range of experienced specialists with access to advanced support services and the use of state-of-the-science facilities.
We currently seek Full Time and Part Time Emergency Room Staff Nurses and Pediatric Emergency Room Nurses for both day and night shifts. The successful candidates will use their clinical expertise to plan the delivery of safe, therapeutic, population-specific patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. With the patient and family central to the care, the RN incorporates the unique characteristics and needs of each patient and family member into the care delivery process. The RN works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. The RN provides leadership to the team by orienting, mentoring and managing team members to assure that quality care is delivered with compassion, dignity and respect as well as efficiency. The RN participates in unit/department/institutional performance improvement activities that impact patient/family and service outcomes based on professional practice standards.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
• 2 years experience, preferably in Emergency room; would consider ICU experience
• ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by population served, within 1 year of hire
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively, utilizing the English language
• Ability to interact effectively with physician, patients, staff and other healthcare professionals
• Computer skills
